Jem Authors Agency is a boutique publishing house created to make the journey to becoming an author feel supported, personal, and possible.

Jem Authors Agency was created by Michael and Jo, partners in life and in writing.
Like many of the authors we now work with, we didn’t start with certainty. We started with ideas, half-finished drafts, moments of doubt, and a quiet sense that there was something we wanted to say.
Over time, we found our way through the writing and publishing process, learning what works, what doesn’t, and what makes the biggest difference.
And somewhere along the way, we realised something important: Most people don’t need more information. They need support, structure, and someone to believe they can do it.
That’s why we created Jem Authors Agency.
What makes us different
We've done it ourselves
We understand the process because we've lived it, from idea to published book.
We care about your voice
Your story stays yours.
We guide, shape, and support, but never take over.
We keep things calm and clear
No overwhelm.
No confusion.
Just a clear path forward.

Created by writers, for writers
We believe publishing a book should feel exciting, not intimidating.
Whether you need hands-on support like ghostwriting and editing, or simply guidance and encouragement to get your words onto the page, we meet you where you are.
From your first idea to seeing your book live on Amazon KDP, we’re with you every step of the way.
Michael Thame
Editor, author and Ghostwriter
Michael, originally from Kent, moved to the North West in 1994 to study at the University of Liverpool. With over 25 years in publishing, mainly in online and print media, he began his career as a novelist and ghostwriter after documenting his Grandfather’s memoirs in 2014.
Michael has ghostwritten two memoirs, two novels, and a self-help guide with a decorated British Army officer dealing with PTSD. He has also authored four children's books in the Conyers Street Mysteries, inspired by his grandfather's World War Two experiences. He is an avid reader of ghost stories, written several short stories in the genre and edited three anthologies. He is the proud father of two amazing daughters.

“Every story deserves to be told – and told well.”
Jo Price
Author, Proofreader and Writing Coach

Jo understands first-hand how it feels to want to write, but not quite know where to begin. Her own journey into writing sparked a passion not just for storytelling, but for helping others find their voice. She is the creator of This Lady Writes, a space dedicated to supporting women in writing for wellbeing, creativity, and confidence – without pressure or expectation.
Through her work at Jem Authors Agency, Jo helps guide authors from those early ideas through to something more fully formed, offering calm, supportive direction every step of the way.
Her debut novel, The Suitcase, is a bestseller inspired by her grandmother's experiences as a military nurse during the fall of Hong Kong on 'Black Christmas.' It depicts the lives of British colonials before the Japanese attack, highlighting their resilience. Jo is currently writing The Promise, the second book in The Suitcase Diaries.
Jo believes that writing doesn’t have to start perfectly – it just has to start.
